At VCS, we understand the importance of corporate social responsibility and strive to make a positive impact on our community and the environment. That’s why our business strategy goes beyond maximising profit, it encompasses the well-being of people and the planet.
In addition to our going green initiative, we have expanded our efforts in prioritising social responsibility. We believe that change starts from within, and thus have created a work environment that promotes inclusivity, fairness, equality, and wellbeing. From this strong internal foundation, we can work to make a difference to the communities around us.
How we invest in our people and communities:
Volunteering Initiative
We encourage our employees to contribute to causes they are passionate about by offering each of them one day of paid volunteering every year.
Work-Life Balance
We strongly believe in the importance of work-life balance and support our employees with flexible hybrid working arrangements. We also provide support to working parents (making up over 50% of the team), ensuring that they can maintain a fulfilling career while prioritising their families.
Personal and Professional Development
We offer numerous opportunities for personal and professional growth, including apprenticeships, practice presenting, and access to a range of supportive resources and activities within our office.
Mental Health Support
We prioritise the mental well-being of our team members by having two senior managers trained as mental health first aiders. They are available to provide support and assistance to anyone in the company who may need it. Regular drop in sessions with an external wellbeing counsellor are encouraged for all staff. We also provide a paid membership with Headspace, a meditation app to all our employees.
Gender Equality
At VCS, we are committed to reducing gender inequality and we are proud to report that 75% of our senior management are women.
Sustainable Suppliers
We actively seek out sustainable suppliers and have recently added Who Gives A Crap and the Odd Coffee Co to our list.
Give As You Earn Payroll scheme
Through this program, our employees will have the opportunity to make tax-efficient donations, supporting charitable organisations and making a difference while saving charities from claiming Gift Aid.
Integrated Charitable Causes
We have incorporated various charitable causes into our company culture and daily operations, and we welcome and encourage our employees to share new ideas for initiatives that benefit our community and beyond!
Monthly Charity Donations
We donate monthly to the charity Mind for their “Pause for Mind” box, which focuses on improving staff well-being while supporting a worthwhile cause.
Work experience Schemes
This initiative aims to provide young individuals with valuable opportunities to learn new skills and increase their employability.
